Aguti expands in Japanese market via Toy-Factory cooperation
“Made in Germany” seating luxury is heading to Japanese camper van customers following a cooperation between Aguti and Toy-Factory.
In 30 years of operation, Aguti has become the European leader for seating systems in recreational vehicles, and since 2020, has been a specialist centre of competence within the worldwide AL-KO Vehicle Technology Group and DexKo Global Inc.
As part of strategy to build on its current annual sales volume of over 50,000 units, Aguti has agreed an ambitious cooperation with Japan’s Toy-Factory, the country’s leading converter of recreational vehicles, to supply seating technology.
Founded in 1995, Toy-Factory follows a no-compromise approach to quality, combining its own expertise with highend European suppliers. Its new Fiat Ducato-based camper van will offer a European touch to Japanese customers via a variety of Aguti seating products, which will also be offered for other Toy-Factory conversions.
Aguti Managing Director Sebastian Janssen: “We are proud to expend into the Japanese market and I sincerely thank our friends at Toy-Factory for their trust. There is great demand right now in Japan for camper vans, and the supply is relatively slow to catch up considering the various global factors in recent times. The impressive new Toy-Factory conversion arrives at the perfect time and has the potential to become a very popular product in this market, thanks to Toy-Factory’s no-compromise development approach. We are pleased to be part of this exciting project and to bring Aguti quality, comfort and safety to the Japanese market for the first time.”
Aguti’s premium specification Milan driver’s seats and all-new slide-out comfort bench will be available to Japanese customers via Toy-Factory’s 11 dedicated stores and network of over 300 affiliated Toyota dealerships.
With their luxurious leather coverings, the Milan seats ensure unbeatable comfort and they can be adjusted for optimum ergonomics with adjustable height and tilt, as well as smooth swivel motion. Extrawide seats, with adjustable arm rests and ergonomic surfaces constructed from PUR soft foam make even the longest journeys pass with ease, while electric lumber support and seat heating ensure all preferences are covered.
Perfectly complimenting the Milan seats for Japanese customers is an allnew slide-out comfort bench which offers exceptional ergonomics and a superior safety standard.
The elegant two-seat design appears as a single unit, with functionality and belt frame cleverly integrated. Passengers sit in comfort via a variety of independent adjustments. As well as 110 mm of lateral movement of the seat, including the head rest, each seat moves forward individually by up to 100, and high-quality polyurethane moulded foams ensure perfect ergonomic support for all body types.
